It is important to realize that paints look substantially different on your walls than they do on glossy catalogue pages. Also, the effect of light in different parts of the room will make the color on your walls look different.
Nowadays, most paint manufacturers offer a 2 to 4 ounces of sample paint. It is best if you use this sample on your walls to know the exact effect of the color. This is a much better and cost effective options to buying gallons of paint only to realize that it is not the exact shade you had in mind.
