Space is at a premium in most apartments these days. However, there are many ways to give the illusion of space even when you can’t make the space larger physically. To begin with, stick to light colors on the walls, flooring and curtains. Offset it with splashes of bright color in your cushions and throw rugs.

Furnish your space with light weight furniture such as cane. Go for the minimalist look. Keep the look uncluttered, if not spartan. Try to have built-in shelves and wardrobes, and even folding tables. Avoid large paintings that can dwarf the room. And use large mirrors to add depth to your space.
