Creating Openness in a Closed Room
If you have to decorate a small closed space, especially one without windows, but wish to give it sense of openness, here is a great idea: use a painting or tapestry which shows a landscape or some other open space, giving the visual sense of space outside of the room. However, you need to ensure that the design on the painting or tapestry is clear and uncluttered. If you use a busy landscape, it will create a sense of heaviness and crowdedness, and create the exact opposite effect than the one you wished to create. Also use light and bright colors as opposed to dark, heavy ones.
